Anne Watson is a teacher in Colorado who loves finding genuine ways to use technology tools with students. She holds her MA in Elementary Curriculum and Design and is a Seesaw Ambassador. She has taught for 7 years, four in kindergarten and three in first grade.
I enjoy finding innovative ways to use technology with my young students. I have found that using the ISTE Standards for Education a helpful resource for determining whether a tech resource, app or website is a tool to enhance students learning or just a fancy toy. Additionally I use the 5E Instructional Model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Extend, & Evaluate) to initially plan and use the technological tools with my students. I have found as a teacher of early elementary students that using using technology purposefully allows me to intentionally manage screen time to extend my students learning.
